Enhanced exhilaration

For the ultimate blend of performance and power, TL models with Super Handling All-Wheel Drive™ (SH-AWD) are propelled by a 3.7-litre, VTEC V-6 engine. Not only is this the most powerful Acura engine on the road right now, but it's also one of the most advanced. But there's also an equally adrenaline-friendly 3.5-litre, VTEC V-6 engine to consider. Both engines feature Multi-Point Programmed Fuel Injection (PGM-FI) to calculate the precise air/fuel ratio for optimum power output. And both engines are forged in aluminum for lightweight efficiency, better heat dissipation and improved durability. 

Efficient horsepower and torque

When it comes to horsepower and torque, the TL rises to the occasion in ways that no other Acura can. From the 305 hp and 273 lb.-ft. of torque produced by the available 3.7-litre VTEC power plant, to the 280 hp and 254 lb.-ft. of torque offered by the 3.5-litre VTEC engine, there's plenty of power to go around. With innovative VTEC engine refinement and other power band enhancements, the broad flat-torque curve allows for virtually instant and endless acceleration. The newly standard 6-speed automatic transmission gives added performance and increased fuel efficiency, while the available 6-speed manual transmission provides heightened control .


Sport Suspension

The TL's 4-wheel independent front double-wishbone and rear multi-link suspension system offers you the kind of stability and flat cornering response you might expect. The front suspension utilizes a short upper arm for maximum grip and turning compression while a high-placed lower suspension arm delivers superb vehicle control with a stiffer steering feel. The rear suspension features a precision pillow joint for enhanced handling and stability. Further handling prowess comes from the TL's oversized front and rear stabilizer bars for quick, flat cornering and a dose of exhilaration. 


Electronic Power Steering (EPS)

For performance steering at high speeds and increased manoeuvrability at lower speeds, the TL relies on an advanced speed-sensing Electronic Power Steering (EPS) system. Now, from quick hairpins and sweeping highway curves to tight city-centre agility, the TL empowers your every move.

High performance fidelity 

The first of its kind in a production automobile, the TL's available multi-channel ELS Surround  Premium Audio System was developed in part with Grammy Award-winning producer and sound engineer Elliot Scheiner. This 10-speaker 6-channel system delivers an astonishing 440 watts of rich audio sound power throughout the cabin. Plus, the in-dash 1-disc CD changer with DVD-Audio, Dolby  Pro Logic™ II and DTS  , with MP3 and Windows Media  Audio capabilities, allows you to enjoy your music in the format of your choice. Add to that the experience of steering wheel-mounted audio controls or available voice-activated audio control, and you've got the makings of the ultimate audio system. 

Hard disk drive (HDD) 

As much as the TL's navigation system can inform, it also likes to entertain. The system's available 12.7 GB hard disk drive (HDD) contains enough storage space for you to record and store more than 217 hours of music, the equivalent of over 2610 songs. Simply insert your CD into the system's single-disc slot and your music will be automatically uploaded into the database as it plays. And with disc and track information provided through the Gracenote^® interface, you can easily scan to your preferred music based on title, artist or genre.

RX PERFORMANCE

3.5-liter V6 Engine

The 3.5-liter engine delivers 270 power horse, and it does so on regular unleaded fuel. The V6 makes 90 percent of its peak torque available in a low rpm range for incredibly responsive power at all engine speeds. All the while providing greater fuel efficiency.The RX also employs a Dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i) system that optimizes both the intake and exhaust valve timing throughout the rpm range, according to engine and driving conditions. The system continuously monitors the engine's speed and load to respond to the driver's demands. This helps provide improved fuel efficiency, lower exhaust emissions and optimize power across all driving ranges. Torque is increased at lower speeds for better thrust. And power is boosted at higher speeds for better acceleration.

Six-Speed Automatic Transmission with Intelligent Shift Control System

With the additional sixth gear, the wider gear-ratio spread provides greater acceleration, efficiency and seamless shifting.The RX also features an Intelligent Shift Control system that can estimate whether you are traveling downhill or uphill and automatically select the appropriate gear ratio for optimal engine response.

SmartAccess

With a unique secure code, the smart access key fob automatically enables you to unlock and open all four of the vehicle’s doors and its available power rear door without removing the key fob from your purse,briefcase or pocket.As soon as the sensors detect your Smart Access key fob.the door unlocks when you touch the handle.Smart Access even activates the lighting entry system to illuminate your points of entry from the exterior puddle lamps to the interior lights.Once inside, it just takes a push of the button to start the engine.

Rear Spoiler

The rear spoiler on the RX diffuses the air flowing over the back of the car,decreasing turbulence,creating a remarkably low coefficient of drag and increasing fuel efficiency.the spoiler also houses an additional rear taillamp and conceals the radio antenna and rear-window wiper for a sleeker appearance from behind.

Dynamic Radar Cruise Control

This advanced system available on the RX is designed to adapt to traffic congestion by using radar technology to help maintain a pre-set following distance from the vehicle traveling in front of you .If you get too close, the throttle is automatically reduced and brakes are applied.When the road clears.the RX will return to its pre-set speed.

Intuitive Parking Assist

Available sensors integrated into the front and rear bumpers help detect how close your vehicle is to surrounding objects.Audible warning tones and graphics in the multi-information console display and available navigation screen assist the driver in knowing the location and proximity of objects around the vehicle.

Voice-Activated Navigation System

The available voice-activated Navigation System on the RX utilizes a high–resolution eight–inch LCD placed close to eye level to help you remain focused on the road.An intuitive interface was also developed to display a linear progression of your commands as you use different functions within the system.Featuring voice command, an advanced voice–recognition system,you can search for destinations using your natural speaking voice and phrasing."Show me Japanese restaurants," from the destination menu, for example, will display locations in your immediate vicinity. And once a destination is selected, the system will calculate up to three different routes and provide audible and visual directions as you drive.

The system also features available Nav traffic , which can provide real-time traffic reports on specific highways or routes and reroute you around congestion.The available Nav weather can provide real-time weather reports for specific cities and even automatically alert you to severe weather.

Heads-up Display

The available Heads-up Display system on the RX can project simple navigation directions, audio information and vehicle speed onto the windshield in front of you, so you can spend more time focused on the road ahead. Unlike other Heads-up Display systems that provide intersection names, requiring the driver to locate street signs, the navigation directions on the system in the RX are provided using a countdown of the remaining distance before an action needs to be taken and an animated arrow that guides you intuitively through turns.

Dual-Screen Rear Entertainment System

An available dual-screen rear-seat entertainment system(RSES).allows the left and right rear-seat passengers to watch or listen to the audio or video source of their choosing through independent A/V inputs.With seven-inch LCD screens located behind the driver's and front passenger's headrests, each system features a pair of wireless headphones and can be used as a DVD player, audio player or game console via audio and video input jacks. For your convenience, a single remote controls both systems, and a standard electrical outlet is also provided.

Adaptable Cargo Area

The folding 40/20/40-split rear seats can slide forward or backward with little effort. Also included is a two-part tonneau cover which conceals valuables or loose gear when the rear hatch is closed and separates when the rear hatch is opened, enabling you to access items in the cargo area without retracting the cover. For added convenience, the rear seats fold effortlessly with remote levers on either side of the rear-door opening.
